My favorite run on Wolverine was the stretch written by Larry Hama where Wolvie and Jubilee were paired up. They had this father/daughter thing, which was nice, and their personalities clashed in a way that was funny. So I thought "wouldn't it be cool if Jubes and X-23 paired up?" One is Wolvie's clone, and was sort of like his adopted daughter for a little while, so they have that common ground. Plus, their characters would compliment each other in the same way as the original Jubes/Wolvie pair.
Although I've always enjoyed Jubilee as a character...let's face it, her costume blows. Big time. So I gave her kind of a punky street vibe, with the emo swoop hair and the gauged earings and such. I kept the colors bright, though, because I'm not trying to imply that her character has changed. She's still as spunky and upbeat as ever. I just thought that those changes would highlight her mischievous side.
As for Laura, I gave her the exact outfit that Wolverine wore in Wolverine #75 (the one that he got his adamantium removed...remember that?) That was the issue where the Wolvie/Jubes pair split up, so it seemed appropriate. Plus, chicks in wife beaters are sexy.
Wow, I don't think I've ever written this much for a description!
