out of curiosity, what ethnicity do you all think Sinister is supposed to be. I have seen him depicted many ways, I kind of think that's cool that he is unidentifiable, always changing.

Y'know, I wasn't even thinking about ethnicity when I was drawing him, but that's a really good question. His name is Nathaniel Essex, and Essex is a city in the UK, so I'm guessing he's British? And now that I'm thinking about it, he does kinda look like Christopher Lee, the way I drew him. I was just trying to give him some distinctive features.

I was thinking he looked kind of AfroCarribean/Hispanic and thought it worked. He is a vampire right?

Nah, he's kinda like a Dr. Frankenstein type. He experiments on people's DNA, including his own. He is like a century old, though. I haven't really been able to dig up a lot about him, I mostly know him from Age of Apocalypse and various animated series, where he's usually Apocalypse's flunky. Him being Afro-Carribean is a cool idea, though. Britain had lots of colonies in the area in the late 19th century, so it follows that someone from the islands might have a British last name, and maybe went to London to study genetics.

I think Marvel's writers need to take some notes, man. This is probably way cooler than whatever his real backstory is ;)
