A Roman soldier, done in pen, markers, and colored pencil. This one is a concept for a personal project that I've been working on for a long, long time.
Pretty sweet. Now I'm inagining a space age version of that, or how Caesar's Legion would try to emulate that.
Semper et in aeternum!
I love this picture. I made a wallpaper a long time ago when I was massively into Rome: Total War using this and plan to recreate it (because I lost it). Will post a link or something when it's done. Couldn't have done it without this magnificent piece of artwork. Thank you :3
And you're even using it as your icon! Wow, high praise indeed! I did another inked version of that (I lost the original), but I can't seem to find the link to it right now.
Finished! May work on an improved version at some point in the future but this is essentially what I created back in the day. Time to work on my Medieval II background now ^_^ Thank you once again for such an inspiring piece of art. I've posted a copy up on DeviantArt and there's a link below. I've credited your work in the description but if you don't want me posting it up free in the public domain I'll take it down again. (I don't use DeviantArt much so I don't really know what the protocol is). Please enjoy:

Damn Impressive gavinslayer!
i want to see someday an persian warrior from you manjust an exellent job.
Someday My area of obsession is Imperial Rome, followed closely by 5th century Greece, but I'm also keenly enterested in the Sassanid empire, which is sorta the Roman-era equivalent of the Persians. The Ottoman empire's pretty fascinating, too. You have to admit it, though: the Greeks and Romans had cooler-looking armor. Admit it!
fan tasic, it looks like a suite of armore all alone but with someone is side at the same time! rules!
Thanks! I was going to use this design in a story were the character's facial features had to remain hidden until the end.
Armor reflections and shading is really great . I like it
Thanks. This one doesn't get a lot of comments or favs, but I like it too.
Very nice. armour is always a big challenge. you did this well.
